Recognized in 1998 as UNESCO World Heritage Site The Charterhouse of San Lorenzo has been recognized by UNESCO in 1998 as World Heritage Site. The architectural style is predominantly baroque. The complex’s surface is 51.500 m², 15.000 involved by the cloister, the biggest of the world. Inside the Charterhouse there are places as the cloister, the library, where you can admire the floor with its Vietri Ceramic tile, the chapel, decorated with precious marbles, the big kitchen, the big wine cellars, the laundries and the fields which were cultivated by the monks.
